Display & Accessibility
A debt tracker that adapts to how you read and feel best.
Traditional finance apps assume you read fluent finance, like dense numbers and don't mind animation. Most people don't. Veowe's Display & Accessibility settings let you turn the app into something calmer, clearer and easier to process.
Settings you can turn on
- Dyslexia-friendly mode — wider spacing, clearer sizing, short paragraphs, plain labels.
- Low-clutter mode — one clear next action, fewer stats, hidden secondary charts.
- Reduced animation — gentle fades or instant updates instead of motion.
- Simple language — short sentences, no jargon, "What does this mean?" helpers.
- Visual explanation — analogies beside money updates (e.g. removed 8 bricks, 2 added back).
- Anxiety-safe display — show full balance, percentage, next milestone, monthly only, or hide total.
- Reminder tone — Gentle, Direct, Encouraging or Minimal.
Plain language example
Instead of:
"Your net repayment progress after interest accrual is £57."
Simple language mode shows:
"You paid £80. £23 interest was added. Your debt went down by £57 overall."
Visual explanation example
"You removed 8 bricks, but interest added 2 bricks back. Your wall is still 6 bricks smaller."
What never changes
Safety warnings, crisis signposting and legal or regulatory copy stay in clear plain English regardless of which settings you turn on. We never rewrite serious warnings into metaphor or slang.
Frequently asked questions
What is Display & Accessibility in Veowe?
Display & Accessibility is a single settings page that lets you adjust how Veowe looks, reads and feels. You can turn on dyslexia-friendly typography, low-clutter mode, reduced animation, simple language, visual explanations and anxiety-safe balance display. It changes how things are shown — never what is calculated.
Is Veowe suitable for dyslexic or neurodivergent users?
Yes. Dyslexia-friendly mode increases line and paragraph spacing, uses clearer sizing and avoids dense blocks of text. Low-clutter mode highlights one clear next action and hides secondary charts. Simple language mode removes finance jargon and adds 'What does this mean?' helpers.
Can I reduce animation across the app?
Yes. Reduced animation mode replaces motion-heavy animations with gentle fades or instant progress updates, and respects your device's prefers-reduced-motion setting. Debt progress stays understandable without animation.
What does anxiety-safe mode do?
Anxiety-safe mode lets you choose how much debt information to see at any time — full balance, percentage cleared, your next £50 milestone, monthly progress only, or hide the total entirely on the dashboard.
Can I change the tone of reminders?
Yes. Pick a reminder tone — Gentle, Direct, Encouraging or Minimal. Reminders never shame you, and serious safety or legal warnings always stay in clear plain English.
Where do I find these settings?
Open Settings → Display & Accessibility. You can turn each option on or off independently and change them any time.
